Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
📌 Purpose of ICC
The ICC deals with complaints related to:
- Sexual harassment (verbal, non-verbal, physical)
- Unwelcome advances or inappropriate messages
- Gender-based discrimination
- Misconduct creating a hostile environment
🏛 Structure of ICC (as per legal guidelines)
An ICC generally includes:
- Presiding Officer – Senior woman faculty member
- At least two faculty/staff members
- One external member (NGO member or legal expert familiar with women’s rights)
📝 How to File a Complaint
- Submit a written complaint to the Presiding Officer within 3 months of the incident.
- Provide details (date, time, place, names of witnesses if any).
- Complaint can usually be submitted to the college office or directly to the ICC chairperson.
- The identity of the complainant is kept confidential.
⏳ Inquiry Process
- The committee conducts an impartial inquiry.
- Both parties are heard.
- Action is recommended to the Principal/Management based on findings.
- The process is generally completed within 90 days.
