Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

📌 Purpose of ICC

The ICC deals with complaints related to:

  • Sexual harassment (verbal, non-verbal, physical)
  • Unwelcome advances or inappropriate messages
  • Gender-based discrimination
  • Misconduct creating a hostile environment

🏛 Structure of ICC (as per legal guidelines)

An ICC generally includes:

  • Presiding Officer – Senior woman faculty member
  • At least two faculty/staff members
  • One external member (NGO member or legal expert familiar with women’s rights)

📝 How to File a Complaint

  1. Submit a written complaint to the Presiding Officer within 3 months of the incident.
  2. Provide details (date, time, place, names of witnesses if any).
  3. Complaint can usually be submitted to the college office or directly to the ICC chairperson.
  4. The identity of the complainant is kept confidential.

⏳ Inquiry Process

  • The committee conducts an impartial inquiry.
  • Both parties are heard.
  • Action is recommended to the Principal/Management based on findings.
  • The process is generally completed within 90 days.
